So close! So crazy! So thankful!
Wednesday we ship! Run. Run. Run.
I have always been a list maker. Lists are magic. I write down enough to keep normal humans busy for 2 days, announce that the listed items will be gathered, done, purchased or completed by noon and wait for Anne to laugh. The magic or delusion comes when I get four of the things checked off before noon but find that life has added five more items for the to do list. This activity style makes me feel important (I’ve accomplished soooo much!) but also frustrated, exhausted and, grumpy with the very people who care most about me and sometimes, totally ineffective. There is no 12 step program to address this behavior. The good news is that this particular wonderful ministry is ripe with possibility for list-making but God (and Anne and friends) have held me tightly so that I have been sucked into the whirlwind of over-listing, overdoing foolishness only a few times.
Wednesday we ship! Today there is a long list of things to do, people to see and places to go. More important, the list starts with saying “thanks” for all of your help, prayers and encouragement along the way. Together we are doing amazing stuff that will take a lifetime to see and enjoy. No list needed. What a blessing. Second, I am praying for physical help as we prepare our shipment…a pickup truck and a few strong bodies. Comment if you can help or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“This is the day which the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it”…and leave the list on the table.
