All of our computers along with lots of peripherals and support come from the folks of Computer Ministry, Inc.  The founder of the ministry, Jim Rudy, died over the weekend.  Computer Ministry posted this as a small memorial.  We are thankful for a life well lived and shared with others.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania – Konde Diocese has just received the sad message, through our routine information sharing with Mr. Randolph Barr, that a very important person the Rev. James Rudy, who is well known for his tireless engagement in Computer Ministry, has passed away.

The Rev. James Rudy had an invaluable vision of REBUILDING AND SENDING COMPUTERS TO PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD; THUS FREELY SHARING HIS GIFTS OF KNOWLEDGE AND KINDNESS WITH SO MANY PEOPLE.

Southern Highlands University College based in Tanzania is a beneficiary of his Vision as we will soon be receiving 110 computers for the first time. This donation is a result of his invaluable vision. I will suggest to the University Board of Directors, that we name the hall, where these computers will be housed, JAMES RUDY HALL, to honor his work.

The Rev. James Rudy has gone to rest in peace in the hands of our Father, he will not be with us for a while, but HIS ENERGETIC, LOVING, CARING AND HARDWORKING SPIRIT WILL CONTINUE TO PREVAIL AMONG MANY AND WILL BE A LESSON FOR MANY PEOPLE TO LEARN AND DO LIKEWISE.

The Diocese will continue to think of his Family and pray for it. We will also pray for his Successor Mr. Bob Schreiner, so that he builds upon the foundation laid by the late Rev. James Rudy and continue in pursuing his new ideas in the framework of the already existing vision.

May our Lord God console his family and continue providing for them.
In Christ I remain sincerely yours,

    Bishop Dr. Israel-Peter Mwakyolile
    ELCT-Konde Diocese
    TUKUYU, Tanzania
