Next Step: Sewing a Future with Hope

crating the sewing machines

Teacher and friend, Bob Brightbill, and his students at Dauphin County Technical School are a blurrr of activity as they crate 7 treadle sewing machines for Tanzania.  Bill Banta, a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in York, planned to send one to a companion congregation to start a small business for women there.  God decided to double the gift so two will be going to the Mpuguso congregation.  The other five machines will travel to the Lake Tanganyika Diocese for similar work and benefit under the guidance of Bishop Ambele Mwaipopo.  Just this one part of the next shipment (more than 450 requested items) has invited the work and service of dozens of people who probably never imagined that their lives would touch and help others half way around the world.  Surprise!  Great Joy!  Wonder what’s in God’s heart for you and give thanks.
